Blanchardstown Centre is an official member of the globally recognised Hidden Disabilities Sunflower.
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower encourages inclusivity, acceptance and understanding.
It is a simple tool for you to share that you have a hidden disability voluntarily. Simply by wearing the Sunflower, you’re just letting everyone know that you might need extra help, understanding, or just more time.
Our management teams, including Customer Care, Customer Service, Housekeeping and Security teams have all completed training provided by Hidden Disabilities to increase awareness of the barriers that customers and staff with hidden disabilities can face.
We will provide Hidden Disabilities Sunflower lanyards at our Customer Service Desk which will give customers an opportunity to discreetly indicate to staff that they may need assistance or support.
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a simple tool for you to voluntarily share that you have a disability or condition that may not be immediately apparent – and that you may need a helping hand, understanding, or more time in shops, at work, on transport, or in public spaces.
Some disabilities, conditions or chronic illnesses are not immediately obvious to others. For some people, this can make it hard to understand and believe that someone, with a “non-visible” condition genuinely needs support. Some people question whether you have a disability because you don’t look ‘like you have a disability”.
